A cycling base rather than a race itinerary
A short stay can begin with fitting and a modest first ride, followed by a longer loop once comfort and confidence are understood. Urla’s wider peninsula setting allows discussion of village lanes, coastal sections and cultural stops. We do not assume that a published regional cycling route is suitable in full for every traveller or for the bicycle available.
Explain what electric assistance changes
An e-bike can help on an ascent, but it still requires balance, confident braking and awareness of traffic. Battery range depends on the bicycle, rider and route; it should not be promised from a generic specification. We discuss surface, gradients, saddle time and road-sharing before a route is confirmed. A non-riding day can break up the stay without turning the holiday into a performance challenge.
Keep food stops compatible with riding
A village lunch or olive-oil visit can add context to the landscape. If wine interests you, a tasting belongs after cycling has finished or on a separately driven outing. Equipment collection, charging, repair support and a return transfer need clear responsibility. Tell us your height, recent cycling experience and whether anyone would prefer to follow the day by vehicle.
Make the enquiry specific to your bicycle day
Tell us whether you enjoy steady riding, frequent photographs or longer café stops. The same landscape can support very different days depending on those preferences. Include any need for a step-through frame and your comfort on shared roads, rather than choosing a distance first. A companion who does not ride can join a later meal if the meeting place and separate transport are planned in advance.
