Translate the treatment into a location brief
Share the visual references, story requirements, intended media, approximate crew size and decision deadline. A landscape that suits the creative idea may still fail on sound, vehicle access, power, public use or available working space. We can coordinate an initial search with appropriate local contacts, defining which regions merit investigation before the production commits to an extensive recce journey.
Agree the evidence needed to choose
Useful deliverables may include dated reference photographs, practical location notes, access observations and a comparison of options. The exact format and responsibility for technical measurements must be agreed. A reconnaissance visit can bring decision-makers to shortlisted locations, with transport and accommodation coordinated separately. Photographs record observed conditions; they are not a promise that the same light, surroundings or availability will exist on the shoot date.
Separate location interest from permission
A location being visible or open to visitors does not establish permission for commercial filming. Owners, relevant authorities and any specialist local production partner determine the procedures applicable to the project. Colorido can coordinate enquiries and practical assistance, but does not issue governmental permits. The shortlist should identify unresolved access questions so the team can evaluate creative value and production feasibility together.
Make the handover useful to production
Agree who receives the shortlist and what they need to decide: creative suitability, a preferred region, a recce budget or permission enquiries. Each location note can distinguish observed facts from questions still to resolve. This avoids treating a visually promising option as production-ready too early. If the project advances, a separate logistics brief can carry the selected location, working dates and outstanding responsibilities into the next planning stage.
