A harbour beneath the hills
Fethiye stands on the southwestern coast in the area associated with ancient Telmessos. The working waterfront, marina and hills behind the town explain its character better than a beach label alone. Lycian rock-cut tombs, including the tomb associated with Amyntas, bring the ancient landscape into view above the modern settlement.
Separate the town from its surroundings
Ölüdeniz has a different bay-and-beach setting. Kayaköy introduces the history of a former settlement through its surviving buildings. These are separate outings from a harbour walk. A Saklıkent gorge visit, a coastal boat trip or a walking section of the Lycian landscape requires its own route, equipment and conditions.
Choose the travel rhythm
Dalaman is a regional air gateway; the journey onwards to Fethiye is a ground transfer. Summer heat, exposed archaeological paths and changing sea conditions affect the daily balance. Describe whether you want town life, swimming, archaeology or walking before choosing accommodation and excursions. A boat or adventure request remains a separately confirmed activity.
