Select a coherent stretch of coast
Fethiye, the wider Lycian coast and the Kaş area offer different starting points for discussion. Choosing one manageable section avoids losing much of the trip to transfers. Your interests may favour coastal views, village paths or historical context. We establish the proposed walking stages first, then decide where sleeping in one base or changing accommodation makes the most sense.
Describe the walking honestly
A meaningful walking plan specifies approximate hours, ascent, descent, surface and opportunities to shorten a day once the route is assessed. Distance alone can conceal a demanding stage. Tell us about your recent walks, confidence on loose ground and response to heat. A rest day or a vehicle-supported alternative can be built into the proposal without making every day the same length.
Balance independence and local support
Discuss whether you want a guide throughout or a different supported arrangement. Luggage movement, drinking-water planning and pickup points need explicit agreement; they are not automatic because a transfer vehicle is mentioned. Visits to archaeological sites and a coastal boat outing can complement the walking, but should not displace the recovery time that makes a multi-day journey enjoyable.
Prepare a walking brief that is useful
Describe a recent walk you enjoyed, including how long you were out and whether it involved sustained climbing. Add your preferred room style and how much luggage you expect to bring. These details are more informative than simply selecting easy or moderate. We can then compare a base-and-transfer approach with a point-to-point sequence and explain the trade-off in walking variety, hotel changes and time on the road.
