A tower in the water
The Maiden’s Tower stands off the Üsküdar shore. Its isolated position gives it a different relationship with Istanbul from Galata Tower on a landward hill.
History and legend
Stories of a princess and a snake belong to the tower’s popular mythology. Keep those legends separate from the building’s changing defensive and maritime uses.

A Bosphorus boat may offer a waterside view. Landing and entering require separate confirmed arrangements; an old ferry timetable does not establish today’s access.
