The site is connected with the tradition that Mary lived near Ephesus under John’s care. Devotional importance does not establish every detail as proven biography.
A separate hillside visit
The house is outside the ancient-city walking route, above the Selçuk area. The small sacred building and its devotional surroundings differ from the Roman ruins.
