Beyond the historic peninsula
Beyoğlu lies north of the Golden Horn. It offers another urban perspective through Galata, the İstiklal corridor and Taksim rather than repeating the Old City’s monumental circuit.
A route with several layers
Galata Tower, streets around Pera, Istanbul Modern and the Galataport waterfront represent different interests. Tower exterior viewing and an interior admission are separate choices.
Leave room for walking
Allow for hills and the distance between waterfront and upper neighbourhoods. Select museums and stops before joining the walk to a boat excursion.
